In 1979 the birth of “The Heart Of Texas (HOT) Czechs” created quite an excitement. It all started from the Kincl family reunion as a get together garage polka band and the rest is history. For five years we hit the polka scene throughout Texas. North, South, East and West. Dance halls, picnics, weddings, private parties, concerts and benefits. You name it, we did it! Tuxedos, stage lights, manager (Mr. Dennis, “The Mouth” Dobias), radio talk shows, baseball caps, T-shirts and dominos were all new to the polka scene. We made ONE album, “The HOT Czechs Goin’ Banking” which was a total success. If you happen to have one, OR an 8-track tape, you’d better hang on to it. I have lost count (and probably the names) of all the musicians who played with The HOT Czechs, but it was quite a number. The band advanced through the years and in the end we could play all types of music with quality sound: Czech polkas and waltzes, solid country and western, rowdy rock and roll, and bad boy blues. In all of my music career and bands, The HOT Czechs were the best times I’ve had. It’s something special about polka music that just makes you tap your feet and holler. The thousands of people we performed to were of all ages and the finest folks you could ever want to be around. However, all good things must come to an end. The HOT Czechs disbanded, and I took a country band on the road for several years. Now, I have given glory, my life and music talent to Jesus Christ who gave me mine. But before I’m gone, I wanted to leave behind an album of my favorite Czech tunes. This CD was recorded entirely by my music sequencer, my computer, my keyboard, and myself, thus The Lone HOT Czech Plays Again. It is my dearest wish that you will enjoy every minute of it. Thanks for the memories. May God bless you.
